We maintain our high-quality standards to create the best-tasting treats for your pet.
Ever wonder how we get all the nutrients into one little heart-shaped chew? There's a lot of love that goes into making Dog Chew. That's it!
We have plenty of the powerful key ingredient Green Lipped Mussel (GLM).GLM is one of the most effective joint mobility supplements available.GLM is one of the two most sustainable seafoods in the world.
Glucosamine and chondroitin are the other active ingredients. Altogether, these ingredients make our formula effective in fighting the signs of arthritis. Inactive ingredients complete our heart-shaped chews and give them the great taste that pets love.
The process we use to produce our dog chews is called food extrusion, which means that a group of blended ingredients is forced through an opening in a perforated plate or mold with a specific food design. It is then cut to a specific size by a blade. The machine that forces the mixture through the die is an extruder and the mixture is called extrudate. The extruder consists of a large rotating screw that is tightly mounted in a fixed barrel with a die at the end.
Our chews are manufactured in a cleanroom. When we start, the ingredients are weighed and dispensed, and then mixed together at a specific mixing speed. This process ensures consistency with the amount of verified ingredients needed for each chew.
The delivery tube conveys the powder mixture into the extruder. Extrusion uses pressure and a single and double extruder to process the chew.
The product passes through the extruder die. Here we have the product going through the extruder die.
Now the Chews recipe is transferred to the cutter and is cut into individual heart-shaped chews.
There are several process controls to ensure the quality of our chews, such as pH measurement, water activity and weight. After production batches, the Quality Control Department performs chemical testing to ensure the right amount of ingredients are present and microbiological testing to ensure the product is safe for our pets.
At our facility, we use cold extrusion technology as our preferred method of producing Chews. The benefit of this process is that many of the ingredients and nutrients are heat sensitive. Cold extrusion technology ensures that all of these valuable nutrients are protected.
The chews are transferred from the cold extrusion process on the packaging line to the waiting jars, and finally the quality assurance department reviews the batch records and ensures it meets written specifications before it is released to the market.
Now you know how Dog CHEW is made! We are very excited about our new manufacturing facility and the results we are seeing in our products. Our passion is what we do, and our products are the results. Help us spread the word about improving the lives of our pets.
